Matthew Connolly, Artist

Growing up in the Mississippi River town of Alton, Illinois, Matthew spent his childhood discovering his passion for drawing and art. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the College of Architecture and Design at Kansas State University, Matthew's professional employment path started in Colorado, then Jacksonville, Florida and returning to Kansas City where he established his own architectural practice. Throughout his career, Matthew has sketched and painted in conjunction with architectural design.

While working on a restaurant/coffee bar project for a downtown Kansas City hotel, the owner's artist for the interior art package (at the last minute) was unable to perform the work and meet the construction time line. Matthew volunteered to produce the interior art package and was commissioned as the artist...and so it began.
